Going invisible envisions and embraces a profound renewal of American values that can transform our culture from an egoistic individualism fixated on material consumption to a culture that above all other considerations respects the dignity and common humanity of all persons, and conducts its affairs accordingly.
This is a revolution quite literally from within, within the culture as a whole and within the individuals who comprise that culture. As such, our interests and activities are wide-ranging, extremely varied, and not adequately conveyed in brief summaries. Professor Tranquillo felt the knowledge best-transmitted bit by bit so as not to overwhelm the student: “Brick on brick builds house” was his mantra. Let it be yours as well as you explore the possibilities we offer for your participation in this evolution revolution.
For starters, simply give invisibility a fair hearing. Here’s how:
1) Get an overview of the invisible way of life by listening to the Primer 1-3 podcasts (see Table of Podcasts) and reading The Tour and Our Mission on the website. Listen to the Our Teacher podcast about our invisibility guide Dr. Jules Tranquillo. Then, follow your heart.
2) If your heart leads you on, listen to Dr. Tranquillo’s 55 brief podcast chapters (abbreviated for our brothers and sisters with stunted attention spans) on How to Go Invisible, narrated by his student Sam Thayer, as they appear on the website week by week. Brick by brick, let Doc build up for you the house of wonders we call the invisible way.
3) Read the website Writings, which continue to grow as more material becomes available. Some of these contributions come from Dr. Tranquillo’s own work surfacing as his estate is processed. Others come from his files of techniques and insights collected from fellow invisibles. Yet others have been contributed by contemporary fellow invisibles who naturally insist on complete anonymity.
4) Read How to Join Us on the website and consider applying some or all of our movement’s principles and practices to your own everyday life. That’s where the rubber meets the road for our Route 66 radical revolution of values. That’s where you can make a real difference and, while you’re at it, discover the meaning and purpose in your own life you’d almost given up on. Yes, that’s right, meaning and purpose – there are such things in spite of what you may have heard. Go invisible and see for yourself.
